JOB TITLE: Farm Supervisor

SALARY: £16,000 - £17,500 dependent on experience

LOCATION: The Hop Farm
REPORTS TO: Farm Manager /Head of Department
INTERNAL LIAISON: Support all departments within all locations.
EXTERNAL LIAISON: Clients, Customers and Suppliers
The post holder will be hands-on and responsible for providing day-to-day support of each animal in their care, supporting the Farm Manager to ensure the animals and reptiles are safe and well cared for. As the supervisor you will deliver excellent standards of presentation for the farm and staff. You should promote an atmosphere of friendliness, warm welcome, interaction with the customers and positive attitudes, which you should encourage and promote within the team. The post holder will ensure all events and day-to-day operations run smoothly.
The Supervisor is responsible for animal welfare at The Hop Farm and for:
 Supporting the Manager by ensuring the farm runs smoothly in their absence,
 Tasks are completed correctly and efficiently
 Ensuring the team adheres to the feeding and care timetables
 Health and Safety of the yard, pens, housing, staff and customers is all met to high standards and falls within the regulations of running a ‘hobby farm’ and follows the principles of HAWSA
 Hygiene of floors pens hand wash areas are all correct
 Alerting management if veterinary visits are required or if there are concerns regarding the health or welfare of an animal
Completion of designated paperwork in a correct manner, inclusive of:
 Daily checklists
 Weekly cleaning lists
 Inventories
 Daily diary notes
 Noting appointments
 Customer comments

Supporting the Manager
 By inducting and training of new employees.
 Ordering supplies, equipment and feed through the purchase order finance system.
 Maintaining equipment, supply & feed inventory.
 Managing disposal of waste.
 Arranging and overseeing vet visits, worming & shots.
 Overseeing farrier scheduling & visits.
 Supporting and running any children’s events / parties / experience days and ensuring safety standards are strictly adhered to.
 Supporting income generating ideas
Customer liaison
 Speaking to customers on a daily basis
 Being customer facing and focused on educating, introducing animals and portraying good humoured talks / presentation.
Work as part of a team and be flexible to perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Manager.

Purchase Ledger Clerk / Cashier

Working for a local visitor attraction in Kent this is a highly varied accounts admin role that requires an individual that has used SAGE software

Your role will be to support the Finance team on a daily basis using Sage 50. It is quite customer involved so requires someone that is administratively strong yet also a positive, upbeat and likeable character that is willing to be flexible and support all the business areas and take on new projects as required by the organisation

Overview of role:

* Responsible for company purchase ledger

The successful candidate will have:

* Knowledge and practical experience in administration and finance

* Excellent telephone and communication skills.

* Good customer relationship skills

The Hop Farm

The Hop Farm is one of the most famous and recognisable features of the Garden of England, boasting the world’s largest collection of iconic Victorian Oast houses. We open our gates to over 500,000 visitors every year offering a wealth of events and attractions for all ages to enjoy. Stretched over 500 acres of beautiful countryside we can hold an array of functions and events throughout the season.

The Role

To assist one of our teams across site in each of our venues to create the perfect experience for our customers and clients. Candidates may be required to work in a variation of settings both outside on our attraction or within any of our catering outlets or function rooms, during all functions including weddings, festivals, and the general running of the park. Candidates over the age of 18 will be required to work behind the bar during some of our biggest Events and Parties. Full training will be issued on site.


Ideally availability year-round. Shifts are flexible and can fit around School or current employment. Shifts can range from early mornings to late evenings, 7 days a week, dependent on events and functions taking place.


Will have prior experience in Customer Service or Hospitality and Catering industry, however it is not essential.

Will have their own transport due to the location of The Hop Farm.

Must be over the age of 16.
